Here at Holistic Dental Centre, we have made a few changes over the years to the way we treat our patients. Some of you will be aware of what we do and some won’t know the extent of it. Dr Murphy is a Holistic Dentist and former medical GP. He has been treating patients for over 20 years and over the last 7 years he has been documenting the link between his patients’ illnesses such as IBS and thyroid dysfunction and the presence of heavy metals in their bodies caused by the release of mercury vapour from their mercury/ amalgam fillings.
Here in the practice we link a traditional Chinese medicine tooth chart to your own mouth and we look at the tongue from a Chinese medicine point of view. We do an in depth consultation with each patient and decide then on the best detox protocol prior to and after removal of these fillings from their mouths. We have seen that lifestyle, diet advice and removal of these fillings has a huge impact on patients’ health and well-being. In the practice we have the ability to test you for a range of heavy metals, not just mercury. As not all people have an issue with their amalgam fillings it’s more of a well-being choice to have them removed. The key to successful removal of these fillings from the mouth is that it MUST be carried out in a safe environment using the correct protocol that protects both the patient and the dental team.
We have seen an increase in the number of patients presenting to us with poisoning symptoms from Thallium present in their amalgam fillings. This is also a potential factor to look at when treating patients mercury is not the only metal in your amalgams that could be harming your health. This is why we stress the importance of having the procedure done in our clinic where it is done safely and protocols are followed correctly. We believe that you must treat the patient as a whole and not just by the symptom they present to you with. All diseases can stem from the oral cavity.
